Ismeal Kabia joins St Mirren on a season-long loan

A 20-year-old winger (born 10 December 2005), at Arsenal's academy since 2017 and a professional since July 2024. After a full season on loan at Shrewsbury Town — 43 games in all competitions in 2025/26, used on the right as a midfielder, winger or wing-back — he joins St Mirren in the Scottish top flight for 2026/27. Arsenal confirmed the move on 15 August. He has already played: 59 minutes in the Scottish League Cup against Rangers, a 5-1 defeat.

1. Line opened on 23/08 — a gap in our tracker, now filled. The loan was confirmed on arsenal.com on 15 August and picked up the same day by St Mirren, Arseblog News, Daily Cannon and the academy reference site, Jeorge Bird's Arsenal Youth. It was missing from the table: that is fixed.

   What is established: a season-long loan until May 2027, with Mikel Arteta's approval. Daily Cannon reports that St Mirren had to see off plenty of competition, in Scotland, in England and on the continent. What has not been disclosed: the financial terms and whether a recall clause exists.

   The logic is the one behind every academy loan. Kabia is 20, he is coming off 43 games in League One, and he needs a step up. He did not wait: in the side the following weekend in the Scottish League Cup against Rangers, 59 minutes in a 5-1 defeat.
