Diomandé joins Real Madrid, Arsenal left behind

After the Rogers deal collapsed, Arsenal gathered information on Yan Diomande, the 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger at RB Leipzig (13 goals, 10 assists in 36 games last season). Fabrizio Romano confirms 'calls' to the player's agents — but to understand the situation, not to launch a bid: Diomande already has an agreement on personal terms with PSG, who are negotiating with Leipzig. A move to the Emirates therefore looks unlikely as things stand.

Real Madrid completed the Yan Diomandé transfer on 6 August: €125m guaranteed plus €15m in add-ons, on a contract until 30 June 2033. It is RB Leipzig's record sale and, on the fixed fee, the biggest purchase in Real Madrid's history. Arsenal never went beyond interest on this one, with PSG already negotiating back in July.
