Arsenal are Premier League champions for 2025/26, 22 years after the last one. 85 points, the best defence in the division and a record haul of goals from corners: a look at how this title was built.
Twenty-two years. On 19 May 2026, Manchester City could only draw 1-1 at Bournemouth, and Arsenal were champions of England without kicking a ball. You have to go back to 2003/04 and Arsène Wenger’s Invincibles to find the last one. Mikel Arteta is the first Arsenal manager to lift this trophy since.

We won it at the back

When the rivals wobbled in the spring, Arsenal held firm. The Gunners won games 1-0 without ever looking like they were in danger, and that is exactly what had been missing in the three seasons before.
Corners became a weapon
Arsenal scored 19 goals from corners, something nobody had ever managed in the Premier League. Set-piece work became this side’s signature to the point where opponents were giving away a corner knowing full well what was coming.
Eighteen players scored
Nobody came close to thirty goals this season. Viktor Gyökeres finished as the club’s top league scorer with 14, and 18 different players found the net, right down to 16-year-old Max Dowman. The title came from all over the pitch, and that may be the number that says the most about this campaign.
The recognition
Mikel Arteta was named Premier League Manager of the Season, at the end of a project plenty of people had called too slow. And the club legend himself handed over the baton: “You did it. Champions go on when others stop. This is your time.” (Arsène Wenger).
The GG take
(Opinion.) This did not look like a miracle season to me. Arsenal led the table for two hundred days, conceded fewer than anyone and won games from corners drilled on the training ground. That is not a hot streak, that is a team that has learned how to win. Whether it can do it again is the next question.
